Fantasmic Finds

Here you will find what I think are awesome supermarket findings that I will continue adding onto my grocery list:

1. New York Deli Style Rye Wraps

I personally love wraps but have had to limit my intake of them because tortillas are chalk full of calories (normally ranging at about 200-300 calories for the tortilla ONLY). When I came across an 80-calorie tortilla, I was filled with ecstasy. These tortillas are the same size (10') as regular tortillas and the same thickness. Plus, I love rye wraps because rye keeps you fuller longer because of the fiber content. 80 calories per tortilla is about the same as eating one slice of bread. But instead of using two slices of bread to make myself a sandwich, I can just use one tortilla and make myself a delicious wrap while cutting out a ton of calories! I can now enjoy a wrap everyday if I want and NOT feel guilty at all! What a great find!

2. Silk Organic Soymilk

I have a confession to make. I a not a huge fan of milk. (*GASP* Send her to the guillotine!) I know. But I do love soymilk and I am a huge fan or organic products. I have had organic dairy milk and I have had soy milk, but never organic soymilk. I was so happy when I came across this because it is exactly what I have been wanting and it tastes great! It tastes like soymilk but not too sweet so I can have it in my cereal. At 80 calories per cup and with as much calcium as dairy milk (because most non-dairy products lack calcium), how could you not love this too??!

3. GeniSoy Soy Protein Powder

Since I am more of an advocate for soy products and vegetarian dishes, I do not incorporate as much protein in my diet and so I decided I needed more. I'm not a vegetarian so I first began looking into Whey protein powder. However, it's funking expensive and so when I say soy protein powder at half the cost, I decided to give it a try. I immediately fell in love with it. I adore soy products and 3 heaping tablespoons of it only comes up to 110 calories and 25g of protein. Sweet! I add this to my morning oatmeals when I want to bulk it up with some protein or when I have eaten too many eggs. I also add this to my smoothies to give it a perfect and satisfying snack. Next time you want some Whey, pick up a tub of this instead and try it. You won't be disappointed. Bonus: It's also heart-healthy!!
