Better n' Peanut Butter: Funk or Fail?

For those of us who are looking to drop a few pounds or those of us who always set out to find the lowest calorie items of our favorite foods so we can continue to enjoy our indulgences without packing on the weight, we've probably encountered Better n Peanut Butter at least once or twice before. However, is it too good to be true? Compared to regular peanut butter, which is about 190-200 calories per 2 tablespoons, Better n Peanut Butter comes up at only 100 calories per 2 tablespoons, meaning we can have twice the amount we normally would. However, there is a reason these come in low calorie fixings. Peanuts are a natural healthy fat and therefore are supposed to come out at highest calories. If you cut out the fat of natural fats, you end up with just the rest of the junk that remains. So this low calorie peanut butter really is too good to be true. It simply tastes like the remaining junk without the peanuts. If you're looking to substitute this for the real thing, you will surely be disappointed, for this tastes like bland creamy paste, with barely any hint of a peanut taste. Peanut butter is one of those foods that you should not skimp out on. It may be high in calories, but it is chalk full of good fats, so those high calories are ones that makes you healthy, not fat. Next time you are tempted to decrease calories but getting the lower calorie peanut butter, don't. It's gross and will not leave you satisfied. Settle for the real thing, preferably the natural kinds. Total FAIL!
